D147: πŸŒ• the never-endings, and hope as bad for you

it's all just one big long thing

and some notes on why HOPE is sometimes bad for you

Monday June 1,2026

Greetings Thinkers,

Monday, new week, on a New Month. A line up!

The Full Moon was last night.

A lot of replies to yesterday's email had to do with resistance to endings and beginnings. That it's all a continuation, circle of life, flat circle type stuff. I had to look up the word ouroboros among the resistance and now I know!

I think there are no endings too and I think there is value and reason and meaning and matter in seeing things as starts and finishes too. I mean it's all only ever how we organize it and what we make it mean. My saying "if you're going to make it up, make it up good" goes here.

This because, everything we think is MADE UP, perspective is reality - means nothing is really there other than what you make up / make it mean. THUS if you're making up EVERYTHING, why not make it GOOD, is there idea.

And this a direct response to that we often AWFULIZE stuff or imagine the worst. You're making up those versions of reality as much as you COULD make up a better one, a good version. Do you see it?

Thus, whether it's an end, or a beginning, or a flat circle of time where nothing ever ends or starts, it's all in your head no matter what. So make sure you're making it up good, making it good for you.

What about that?

And what else?

Time for that monthly recap soon.

One exchange with one of you had me have these thoughts on the topic too:

what are especially great times to take stock of life?

one reader thought of a marriage ending, another thought of a divorce. It stood out to me how they both phrased "the same thing" differently... Or is it not the same at all?

I seem to tend to "take stock of life" a lot. A natural and all the time thing. I'd say I have a tendency toward it. The reflection stuff I do, my NON AVERSION to looking back despite not going that way, that I document my life in so many ways. All these things are ways I take stock, are they not? Well I suppose LOOKING at it, is the taking stock part, and that is an important distinction.

"makes me" think of RECKONINGS and my love affair with that word and what it means . That I had one major reckoning where I changed my life and became who I am now, and then the realization some time after that, that a great life probably has more than one of those.

Consider your never endings if you want to too.

And now I'm thinking about the Neverending Story.

unbidden: without having been commanded or invited

use it: how much of life is unbidden? Thinking again of matter and weight, the quality of the quantity of the bidden and unbidden things and stuff in my life...

quote(s) to consider

"People who have no hopes are easy to control..."

This from The Neveending Story.

This has me thinking about my thing about HOPE.

I say "fuck hope" because hope, while seen as good, is also WEAK. Lacks conviction, lacks knowing which = doubt.
"I HOPE you have a good day", "I HOPE you make it", and so on, is very different from "I believe you will have a good day", "I trust you will make it if you want to" and so on. Sure there is PLACE for hope. Sometimes you truly do HOPE with all the uncertainty and wishy wash that hope is. And sometimes hope is bad for you.

So now I'm thinking, in the case of this quote, how do these 2 thoughts add up:
"People who have no hopes are easy to control..." + "sometimes hope is bad for you" = ____

Everything is a choice and authenticity is supreme.

Reflecting on my life whether it's looking back at the last month or doing a "this time last year" thing, shorter or longer time frames, doing this at all is a reflection of who I am. That I care to consider who I am, who I have been, what I have done, so that I may use all of that to inform what I do and who I am in the present and the future. That I reflect is a reflection of who I am.

running with turtles

I know, I'm a horror to say anything to some times..

when all my identities are umbrellas

I love a good double negative!

Plan in quotes because I'm so averse to "plans" and "goals".

I chunk out my days, to the minute, in Gcal.

I love to putter so if it becomes "I puttered my life away" so be it.

I'm not a cherry picker, of anything. I like to use things that exist rather than start from new or scratch.

I am an ostrich about politics, news, current events, pop culture and media.

I dislike clichΓ©s and most positive quotes, under thought things meant well, commonly said quotes and phrases.

Don't tell me what to do, don't ask me "how how are you?" or say "I'm sorry for your loss" unless you want to annoy me or you really, really mean it. And know it can be hard to tell which it is, and I'm wrong not infrequently.

30 Day Challenges are my thing. I have a tendency to make things every day things. This is where 30 Day Challenges come from!

Like yourself. Know yourself. Express that self.
Think about things. Don't feel like you have to dance in the rain to have a good life.
Don't have a plan. Stand for what matters. Read when you want to. Don't smile when people tell you to.
Don't have goal. Tend plants. Leave marks. Do what you say. Change YOUR world. And your mind!
Be a friend and a daughter and a partner and a sister and a dog mom.
In a world full of "accept who you are" messages, don't forget to be a "work on that" kind of person.
Don't put kindness above truth. Try new things. Be honest. Live by ideals. Have some whimsy.
What you do for money matters; strive to like what you do for money. (job)
If you have a hobby you need a life.
Use what attracts you and let what you care about matter!

Peepers are my favorite sound.

Triangles are my favorite shape.

54 is my number.

I never need to talk but thank you for offering to listen.

If you say I'm overthinking it, I'll probably say you are underthinkig it.

why I do what I do: I want to "make you" THINK. I don't mind if your experience and perception of me "makes you" be more mindful, use your brain more, "think too much" or consider something more carefully, or differently, or moves you to be (more) thoughtful or intentional or authentic.

I am a hugger and I mean my hugs.

I don't like to have scheduled things. The days where I have something scheduled are a certain category of feeling. I'm not very fond of pre sign ups, committing to things in advance externally. My favorite days are the ones I call "blank slate days". Nothing scheduled, nothing formally EXTERNALLY committed (I am full of internal commitment and ideas all the time, so no day is truly uncommitted).

use the moons

I love rules and I am a ruler follower.

I like a cup to fill.

So which is it Kym. Do you like wide open clean slate no commitment things?
Or you "need" want and thrive in containers, defined spaces, rules and limits?

Geez what a walking contradiction. A biggest when to which Witch!?

SOC life - what you allow in, turns into what you spend your time on. Can you see it?

Tomb raider hot is my favorite kind of girl hot, my favorite hot to be.

Reviewing the month, seeing what stands out, what I did, what I said, themes and thoughts, and then I put all of that into one write, one email. Well I did that for running with turtles and slowing down this morning because I think that topic has come to a head. I think it's time to actually do it....

What's in the bag of this time of life? Duck is still sick. Coughing and hacking and retching, sneezing. It's weird to see a dog have a cold. Wiping his snotty nose... And I am worried and concerned and thinking about if and when to take him to the vet along with all my stuff of medical system resistance. Do we really need to...
