morning, 7:30 am
yup that's right, EARLY today!

Greetings Thinkers,

I gotta get out of here early today, so here, early today. It's 7:30 right now and I've been up for an hour now. Did all my usual things in not a slow Sunday way.

Wake up, bathroom, brush teeth, skip flossing, SHOWER (I rarely shower in the morning but I felt I needed it), moisturize, dress, start water for coffee, start Duck's food warming up on the stove, do the dish left over from last night, clean up whatever Joey ate when he got home late, stir the dog food, make the coffee, sit down, write Morning Pages. Check the dog food, turn it off, make it up, let it cool. Sit for the Daily Email, which I am considering a shift to call Kymology Daily Memoirs. What do you think?

What is the sequence of your morning stuff? Does it change a lot? Is there good for you stuff in there or just the essentials of what has to be done? Do you feel we've talked about this before? If you do, we probably have.

I listened to a YouTube video yesterday, Chris Bumstead, 6 time Mr Olympia. He's a body builder. I only know him because he's a guy Joe likes and follows. Joe sent me the video. I used to resist watching such content. Why would I want to watch this muscly guy do his workouts?, I would think. But I did, because someone I love asked me to and I do that for some things. Sometimes I DO do what people ask me to. Having context with people you care about, is huge! Thus, a good reason to watch the videos that feel like a waste of time, sometimes.

So I watched this one (stopped once it got to the workout part) and he was talking about his morning routine. I'll tell ya, the number of times I've had something in common with this "meat head body builder" has been surprising. I actually like the guy now. This time it was about why "morning routines" matter.

It reminded me of another thing I was listening to, another - someone asked me to. A book, and a writer was talking about what it was like to elevator pitch that she wrote about how important journaling is. That no matter how you say that, you pretty much lose interest immediately. It's like those "articulation mastermind / classes" that are trending now. Have you seen those too? How to lose interest at hello, they claim to teach you how to fix that.

Another time I felt big resonance with what someone else was saying. She was lamenting how awful it was to describe herself that way because it just didn't land, it never translated for what she felt she was really doing. It didn't convey the significance, the importance, the vitalness. "I write books about journaling" = mundane, predictable, ordinary, BORING.

This is what I feel about a lot of things sometimes. Trying describe the "magic" of dailyness, Morning Pages, writing at all, slowing down to think, authenticity, 30 Day Challenges. whatever it is, in a one liner that actually says what it is, it doesn't do much of anything.

So, if you've read me write it before, it must be because it's important. And maybe it will resonate this time. That's exactly a part of this work too. Why I do what I do. Because each time whatever the "topic", you can potentially experience it differently , as can I potentially experience it differently. There's "magic" in that too. (Need a better word for magic)

What else?

I agreed to some counter shifts at Lucketts. That's where I'm heading today. I'll be checking people out all day. I don't think I've made as little as $17 an hour since I was in my 20s... I suppose the cliche of - it's not all about the money, fits here.

What will your Sunday look like?

If you're reading this in the morning, maybe you'll think about what you think your Sunday will be. Maybe even write that down. Then by the end of the day, maybe you'll reflect on how much it was or was not like what you thought it would be.

Sundays.

Do I have the time? Do I have the energy? Do I have the money?

reading this the next day and thought - those probably are definitely not good or right questions to be asking a lot .

Just started a doc called Mom Things. Do you have one of those? What about Dad Things?

Yesterday I put in the window AC unity by myself and a couple months late. Now to see how it goes.

6 days to (PINK) Christmas in July

What does this have to do with you today?

Reflecting on my life whether it's looking back at the last month or doing a "this time last year" thing, shorter or longer time frames, doing this at all is a reflection of who I am. That I care to consider who I am, who I have been, what I have done, so that I may use all of that to inform what I do and who I am in the present and the future. That I reflect is a reflection of who I am.

30 Day Challenges are my thing. I have a tendency to make things every day things. This is where 30 Day Challenges come from!

Like yourself. Know yourself. Express that self.
Think about things. Don't feel like you have to dance in the rain to have a good life.
Don't have a plan. Stand for what matters. Read when you want to. Don't smile when people tell you to.
Don't have goal. Tend plants. Leave marks. Do what you say. Change YOUR world. And your mind!
Be a friend and a daughter and a partner and a sister and a dog mom.
In a world full of "accept who you are" messages, don't forget to be a "work on that" kind of person.
Don't put kindness above truth. Try new things. Be honest. Live by ideals. Have some whimsy.
What you do for money matters; strive to like what you do for money. (job)

If you say I'm overthinking it, I'll probably say you are underthinkig it.

why I do what I do: I want to "make you" THINK. I don't mind if your experience and perception of me "makes you" be more mindful, use your brain more, "think too much" or consider something more carefully, or differently, or moves you to be (more) thoughtful or intentional or authentic.

I am a hugger and I mean my hugs.

I don't like to have scheduled things. The days where I have something scheduled are a certain category of feeling. I'm not very fond of pre sign ups, committing to things in advance externally. My favorite days are the ones I call "blank slate days". Nothing scheduled, nothing formally EXTERNALLY committed (I am full of internal commitment and ideas all the time, so no day is truly uncommitted).

And I am worried and concerned and thinking about if and when to take him to the vet along with all my stuff of medical system resistance. Do we really need to...
